When coming with Makai Adventures on a Maui fishing charter we prefer to take you bottom fishing. In case you are unfamiliar with the difference, bottom fishing is usually done in the calmer, near shore waters compared to venturing far offshore for the pelagic, deep-sea species. This provides more comfort for you and saves on travel and fishing time.
Although, the fish might not be as big you still have a chance to catch a monster Trevally (Ulua) or Grouper when bottom fishing with us. We also have a much higher success rate compared to deep-sea fishing and we believe the main goal to catch fish, big or small.
